Helene Lieser’s 1937 review of Erich Bohley and Hermann Krutsch’s Das Sparkassenrecht in Bayern assesses a legal compilation through its comprehensiveness and practical accessibility. Its chief merit is bringing together legislation and previously unpublished implementation decisions:
Die vorliegende Textausgabe faßt alle einschlägigen reichs- und landesrechtlichen Vorschriften zusammen und veröffentlicht auch die bisher nicht veröffentlichten Vollzugsentschließungen.
English translation: The present edition of legal texts brings together all relevant provisions of Reich and state law and also publishes the previously unpublished implementation decisions.
Lieser then notes its brief treatment of the Reich Banking Act’s effects on savings banks. Her concluding praise follows directly from this coverage: the compilation provides an excellent overview of Bavarian savings-bank law. The review’s movement from scope to supplementary coverage to verdict makes consolidation of dispersed legal materials—not a new legal interpretation—the basis of its recommendation.
