About this work

Emil Lederer, [Abwesenheit bei Plenarbeschluß; S. 147] (1921)

This brief intervention in an official commission record questions how a plenary resolution came about. Lederer attributes his and Professor Weber’s absence to insufficient notice of the meeting:

English translation: On this point I would merely like to state: Professor Weber and I happened not to be present at the plenary session because the meeting had been called at too short notice. Had we been present, the resolution would have gone the other way.

The intervention moves from explaining absence to asserting its decisive effect. Its significance is procedural: Lederer presents the outcome as contingent on attendance. The recorded turn identifies neither the resolution’s substance nor his reasons for opposing it.
