Emil Lederer · 1921
This brief commission-record intervention frames municipalization as a problem of economic leverage. Lederer imagines a brewery responding to Munich’s proposed takeover by withholding deliveries:
Wenn München eine Brauerei kommunalisieren will, kann die Brauerei sagen: ich werde von morgen an nach München nicht mehr liefern.
English translation: If Munich wants to municipalize a brewery, the brewery can say: from tomorrow onward I will no longer supply Munich.
The hypothetical reply draws attention to the supplier’s capacity to redirect sales. It identifies a possible obstacle to municipal action, without establishing whether the threat would be feasible or effective.
