Emil Lederer · 1920
In this recorded commission speaking turn, Lederer broadens “technical management” beyond installing machinery to encompass production costs and pricing decisions:
English translation: Technical management is, after all, more than just the installation of machinery; the way production costs arise includes the decision about prices, while all the surplus profit that may be achieved through an improvement ultimately benefits the enterprise, as is intended.
His conceptual move links technical control to economic authority. Improvements generate gains that accrue to the enterprise; the brief intervention thus makes their allocation part of the question of how coal production is managed.
