Besonders die erweiterten Ausführungen des Verfassers über die Schutzzollpolitik und jene über den Getreideterminhandel, weil von der grössten Objectivität getragen und von allen Schlagwörtern absehend, dürfen fortan niemandem unbekannt sein, der über diese höchst aktuellen Gegenstände reden oder schreiben will; auf sie soll also vor allem nochmals ganz besonders aufmerksam gemacht werden.

English translation: Especially the author's expanded discussions of protective tariff policy and those on the grain futures trade, because borne by the greatest objectivity and abstaining from all catchwords, may henceforth be unknown to no one who wishes to speak or write on these highly topical subjects; attention shall therefore above all be drawn to them once again quite particularly.

Protective tariffs and grain futures trading receive particular attention as urgent controversies. Schullern does not rehearse specific proposals; he presents objectivity and resistance to slogans as prerequisites for responsible public discussion.

Im übrigen tritt überall die vom Verfasser ausgesprochene Ueberzeugung zutage, dass eine auf mittlerer Linie und unter wohlmeinender Rücksichtnahme auf die Interessen anderer Berufsstände sich bewegende Politik der Agrarpflege und des Agrarschutzes nachhaltig auch den landwirtschaftlichen Berufsinteressen am besten und wirksamsten diene.

English translation: For the rest, the conviction expressed by the author comes to light everywhere, that a policy of agricultural fostering and agricultural protection which moves along a middle line and with well-meaning regard for the interests of other occupational estates serves lastingly, and also best and most effectively, the occupational interests of agriculture itself.

The review’s central move aligns agriculture’s lasting interests with consideration for other occupations. Schullern endorses this balance as serving broader social and economic ends, contrasting it with sectional demands, preconceived doctrines, and political slogans that can acquire legislative force. Moderation becomes a criterion of effective agricultural protection.
