English translation: Kreibig's work gives us a clear survey of the course of development which gradually led from the immense confusion of Austrian monetary conditions at the beginning of the reign of Emperor Franz Josef I to the present state of affairs.
Schullern presents this development through documentary benchmarks: lists of legally circulating coins in 1848 and 1858, followed by a description of the contemporary monetary system.
