Emil Lederer’s 1912 review assesses the fourth annual volume of Leo Verkauf’s yearbook on workers’ insurance, covering 1909. Its central concern is the publication’s documentary usefulness: the yearbook brings together systematically arranged legal, administrative, and statistical material on insurance and social policy.
Lederer outlines four principal areas of coverage: legislation and administrative regulations, including accident prevention; decisions of supreme courts and central authorities; reports on governmental and social-policy bodies; and insurance statistics for Austria and the German Empire. Although the legislative documentation extends beyond Austria, Austrian social policy remains the review’s principal reference point.
